On 13 February 2026, OAPTAR conducted a coordination meeting with the District Education Office (PPD) Lawas to align implementation plans for the Wellness Champion Program (WCP) — a school-based Social Emotional Learning (SEL) initiative made possible through the generous support of Yayasan MySDG.
The meeting provided an opportunity to:
• Present the structure and objectives of the Wellness Champion Program
• Clarify the roles of PPD Lawas, participating schools, and counsellors• Align on the 2026 implementation timeline
We are pleased to share that the discussion went well, with strong commitment and engagement from the PPD team.
The next phase will include:
· Needs Assessment across four secondary schools in Lawas District
· Administration of the WHO-5 Well-Being Index to 60 students per school
· Selection of 30 students per school for targeted SEL intervention
· A counsellors’ workshop to build capacity and familiarise them with the SEL modules
OAPTAR is grateful to Yayasan MySDG for their generous support in strengthening school-based prevention and mental health initiatives, particularly in rural districts such as Lawas.

This coordination meeting marks another important step in building resilient school communities through structured, evidence-informed approaches.
