Family-Based Prevention
Keluarga Sejahtera
(Family Wellness Programme)
A culturally grounded family-strengthening programme that enhances communication, emotional bonding, and resilience among families. It blends evidence-based approaches with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) practices, making it highly relevant for Malaysian and Asian communities. The programme supports parents, caregivers, children, and adolescents in building healthy relationships and reducing risk behaviours.

School-Based Prevention
Wellness Champion Programme (WCP)
A comprehensive school-based prevention programme designed to strengthen students’ social-emotional skills, resilience, leadership, and mental wellbeing. WCP includes SEL workshops, peer helper training, mental health activities, and school-wide initiatives to promote safe and supportive environments. It empowers young people to make healthy choices and stay connected to positive school culture.

Training & Workforce Development
OAPTAR provides evidence-based training for educators, counsellors, social workers, treatment providers, and community leaders. Our programmes include prevention science, treatment competencies, recovery support, and capacity building using globally recognised curricula. We also offer Training-of-Trainers (ToT) to ensure sustainability and national resilience.

Community-Based Programmes
(Indigenous & Rural Focus)
We work with rural, indigenous, and underserved communities to promote mental health literacy, youth empowerment, family bonding, and community wellbeing. These programmes are culturally adapted, participatory, and accessible to ensure no community is left behind. Activities include youth development, SEL integration, family days, and community mobilisation.

Treatment & Recovery Support Initiatives
OAPTAR supports service providers and recovery communities through capacity building, technical training, recovery coaching, and organisational strengthening. Our initiatives help improve service quality, enhance recovery environments, and promote sustainable community reintegration for individuals affected by substance use.

Policy & Systems Strengthening
OAPTAR contributes to national drug policy discussions through evidence-based recommendations, community consultations, and collaboration with ministries and agencies. We support system development in prevention, treatment, and recovery, including work on decriminalisation models and national strategic frameworks.
